SMSU Enactus in Jamaica

Today's blog is inspired by the recent mail I received from my former college, Southwest Minnesota State University. I was sent SMSU Focus, a magazine for alumni of the school. I was particularly pumped about this issue of the magazine because one of my very best friends was featured on the cover along with a great article about SMSU Enactus (formerly known as SMSU SIFE). Check it out!

Looking great Laura! :)
While attending SMSU I was also a member of Enactus. Enactus is a worldwide community of student, academic, and business leaders committed to teaching entrepreneurship and free market concepts. The article featured in SMSU Focus talks about one of the greatest and most successful projects SMSU Enactus has ever taken on, and I am personally thrilled that I was able to be involved in it. The team was able to travel to the country of Jamaica 4 times and resurrect a small rest stop located in Faith's Pen, that was on the verge of going out of business. I was apart of the first team that traveled to Faith's Pen and realized I would be able to help in a creative way. I was able to create brochures and banners to promote the business in tourist areas. Check out the full article by clicking the link below the banner above.

Below is the brochure and banner I created to promote Faith's Pen Rest Stop. The banners, as you can see in pictures in the article, as now placed at each entrance of the rest stop. The brochures are placed in hotels and resorts around Jamaica so tourists are now informed of a place where they can have authentic Jamaican cuisine. So if you are ever in the beautiful mountains of Jamaica, make sure you check out the delicious food of Faith's Pen Rest Stop!
